Our Artisans

Olga Lucia Moran

age 30. (cousin of Nancy Moran) – Rainforest Seed Jewelry
From outside of Atuntaqui, Ecuador
Husband: Cesar
IN HER WORDS: I make jewelry out of only natural seeds from the beautiful rainforest. We create jewelry to make a better life for our 3 children. My husband and I barely finished elementary school, but for our children, we have dreams of a better education now that there are people like you who buy our jewelry. I am happy to be able to work more to send my jewelry to the United States. With this new money I will spend more on my children and their clothes.

Nancy Moran

age 31. (cousin of Olga Moran) – Rainforest Seed Jewelry
From Ilumán, Ecuador.
Husband: Carlos
IN HER WORDS: My name is Nancy and I’m married with three children. We live in Ilumán, the land of the wise Shaman. We create jewlery in our home workshop, which lies in the foothills of the Imbabura Volcano. My goal is that my work is appreciated all over the world, and that perhaps one day I can meet the people who buy my jewelry and see the world outside of Ecuador.
